2017 - Dog Enumeration

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS - TOWN OF PROVIDENCE DOG ENUMERATION

NYS and local law require that all dogs, four months of age and older, be vaccinated for rabies and licensed in their town of residence.

In Providence, dog licensing is done through the Office of the Town Clerk (7187 Barkersville Road Middle Grove, NY  12850).

A current certificate of rabies vaccination (and certificate of spay or neuter, if applicable) must be provided at the time of licensing.

THE COST OF DOG LICENSING IN PROVIDENCE IS:  $5.00 FOR A SPAYED/NEUTERED DOG, $13.00 FOR AN UNSPAYED OR UNNEUTERED DOG

The Town of Providence will be conducting a door-to-door census (enumeration) starting on January 1, 2017.

The Animal Control Officer will be looking for dogs that are unlicensed, or overdue for licensing, and will urge their owners to bring them into compliance with the law.

Failure to do so could result in further legal action.  For any dog found to be unlicensed (or having a license renewal 2+ months overdue) an enumeration fee of $25.00 will be added to the above costs.
